Many of us lead busy lives. Not a free second to squeeze in one more thing. It’s logical that you’d want ways to manage time better.

You’re on the go from the moment the alarm goes off until your head hits the pillow. It’s like you’re running a never-ending marathon at the pace of a sprint.

All the meetings…

The projects…

The phone calls…

The business dinners…

The kid’s homework…

Cooking dinner…

Keeping the house clean…

And how about finding time for yourself?

You’re completely exhausted. But you STILL have a list of to do’s and commitments that piles up more by the minute.

What if I said that you could accomplish everything you want (and then some!) AND feel more energized in the process?

Here are 5 of my top productivity and time management tools that will help you get more done without losing your sanity in the process.

Self Care.

This is unquestionably the #1 most important tip on this list.

You cannot continue to lead your busy lifestyle without investing time in recharging your “inner” and “outer” batteries.

Notice I said INVEST your time, not spend your time. When you invest your time taking care of yourself, you receive that energy and productivity back tenfold.

Spending time each day on meditation, exercise, yoga, journaling or whatever activities you enjoy, along with a healthy diet and adequate sleep will leave you feeling more centered, focused, energized, and ready to take on the world.

Quality of time.

Track how you’re spending your time. Is how you spend your time 100% in alignment with the goals you want to achieve?

Here’s how you know you need to track your time: you’re working hard only to feel like you’re not any closer to achieving your goals than you were when you started.

If that’s you, it’s time to track your time.

Here are some typical time and energy eaters:

You feel overwhelmed and stressed by all that you have to do, so you watch Netflix (getting in a couple more episodes than you planned) when you could be exercising.

You allow meetings to run late at work without a structured agenda (which means you to have to work over the weekend when that was supposed to be family time).

Tracking your time will give you the power to reallocate your energy to achieving your goals and investing in quality self-care.

Establish a daily routine and stick to it.

Define the things you HAVE to do each day.

Sleep, meditate, exercise, commute to work, etc. These are what I call non-negotiable to do’s.

Things you do every day no matter what.

Set yourself up for success by accounting for the time these tasks take and schedule them on the calendar.

Prioritize

Now it’s time to prioritize everything else that needs doing.

Take the remaining time and fill it in with your other to do’s.

Whatever doesn’t fit will need to be done on a different day.

Start saying no.

Many of us tend to over-commit. You want to please everyone, so you say yes to the extra project, the field trip at your kid’s school, and lunch with the neighbor.

But how can you honestly say yes to anything if you don’t know whether or not you have the time to do it?

Overcommitting keeps you exhausted and in a state of overwhelm, but it also sets both you and the other party up for disappointment when you’re unable to follow through.

Before you say yes to anything, make sure you have the time and resources if needed to follow through and deliver.

Now that you have a solid daily routine and you’re efficiently prioritizing you’re ready to say goodbye to overwhelm and exhaustion and hello to a more organized and energized you!

Are you ready to become a more energized you and have what you REALLY want, a life you get to live on your terms?
