I worked incredibly hard to get to where I was in my career in corporate.

Why?

I thought I had to prove myself.

I thought that’s what I had to do to survive.

That was the career that I thought I was “supposed” to have.

I thought that career made me more valuable as a person.

Later on, I realized that I was living my life by someone else’s design, not mine.

You know you want something different for your life, but you’re not clear on what that “something” is…

You’re going through the motions, flying through your life on “autopilot.”

Even when you achieve your goals, you still feel unfulfilled.

You don’t enjoy the work you do anymore, or maybe you never did.

You’re no longer learning or growing in your career.

You keep wondering why you can’t seem to move forward in your life.

You’re being who you think you’re “supposed” to be instead of who you are.

You feel like you’re living someone else’s life.

I’ve been there.

Remember the movie “Runaway Bride” with Julia Roberts?

She adapted to every relationship she was in. She had her eggs the way her partner liked his eggs.

She didn’t know how SHE liked her eggs because she was always doing what others wanted.

You need to decide how you like your eggs.

Here are some tips that will help you get clear on what you want for your life.

Choose how you like your eggs, and enjoy!

Awareness.

You’re likely aware that you want something more for your life if you’re reading this. Now that you know, you have to choose to move forward. This requires courage. Realize that you are responsible for the quality of your life and YOU are the only one who can change it.

What are you passionate about?

It’s essential for our well being to enjoy the work we do. Think about what lights you up.

What did you want to be when you were a child?

What hobbies do you enjoy today?

What subjects interest you and challenge you to learn and grow?

Decide solely based on what you enjoy, what lights you up and puts you in your happy place, then go from there.

Acceptance.

Accept who you are perfections, imperfections, strengths, weaknesses, the whole enchilada!

Stop fighting who you really are, because who you are is perfect as-is.

Stop comparing yourself to others lifestyles, they aren’t you, and they aren’t traveling the same path. Once you accept yourself for who you really are, life will immediately get easier.

Be vulnerable. Be you.

Isn’t it exhausting to wear a mask each day hiding who you really are from everyone?

Now that you’ve accepted yourself give everyone else the beautiful gift that is YOU.

Be willing to put yourself out there. You don’t need anyone’s approval, and you will inspire others to do the same.

Following these steps will help you get clear on what you want for your life!

If this resonates with you, I’d love to hear from you!
